The purpose of this music is to show the sorrow that comes when a loved one has died and how sad it can be when it happens and that it's hard to let go, it's to relate to people who have lost someone and if they relate to it then they are more likely to listen to it because if they wanted to they could sing the song and let their emotions out. It is also to advertise the content/video and the lyrics/audio to teenagers to listen to.
Form
The form of this video is live action and the time the video lasts for is 3:30. It is live action, to show sorrow more, to show the sadness in the main characters face, since his girlfriend or possibly his wife has died and live action shows it better rather than animating it, since you can see how he really feels through his eyes/face, body language and how he sings certain parts.
Content
In the video i can see that there is a funeral and the main character is doing a speech but instead of an actual speech it's in the form of a song, since the video seems to be based around his dead girlfriend/wife and some of the lyrics in it have "you" like he's singing about her. The place is in a church, so he prays for her along with her friends and family who are there, since before they would have funerals in churches and they carry the coffin outside into a funeral car for her to be taken away.
Meaning
In one of the shots you see someone standing near the coffin with the girl inside and in that part the main singer sings "We are so far from you", implying that she is going to heaven or hell or somewhere in the afterlife which is why she's so far from them since they are alive and she is dead, but it switches between the body of the dead girl, a person crying and then to the singer, as he sings those lines. They are all wearing black and stay this colour throughout since they are at a funeral and they stay in one place, his hair is also black since is it a dark time in his life because he has lost someone and shows that the genre is emo/gothic/rock since his hair is dark, since you associate black with gothic because its a dark colour. Most of the colours are dark, since they are setting a sad setting, a depressing setting, since its not a happy topic and effects people, so people can relate to it since they know what its like and the sadness that comes with it. He also whispers the "We are so far from you", this is because it adds more of an impact, since it starts of slow and sad and then it goes to a quick beat and he starts singing louder, which changes the mood a bit to a more aggressive approach since the music speeds up however the lyrics are still to do with him being sad, so it's like he's letting out all of his feelings about the funeral into the song, putting a lot of emotion into it, all his sadness.

At another part, a couple of seconds in he sings "So long and goodnight", at this point the camera angle is facing the other people who came to attend the funeral and they sing along to that part, like they are all saying goodbye to her so long and goodnight, like saying rest in peace. When he sings "So long and goodnight" in another part of the video he looks up, in the building like he thinks she's up there, watching down on him and the dancers dance around him, while he's in the centre and they are making him the main focus and then the camera goes to him to show of the emotions he's feeling.
When they sing the "So long and goodnight part

When they make him the centre of attention

At one point they all start praying, like they pray for her to have a good life in the afterlife or hoping she is still with them since he sings "Can you hear me" like he wants her to be alright because he misses her and then sings "Are you near me" like he wants her to still be there or wants her to know what he's saying/ thinking. At this point everyone has their heads down and the corpse gets up and starts dancing gracefully, like she can hear their prayers or just what they are saying and they can't see her and then she falls to the floor again, because this time she's gone for good and isn't going to be with them or her time has come to leave. When he sings on this bit it sounds sort of broken up, like if he was shaking and speaking or like he's really hurt by it so he sings it differently, in some parts of the video you can see him shake, to show how effected by her death he is.
When they are praying

Where she dances and falls back down

This is the part where he shakes - near the start

When they start walking outside with the coffin, it is raining, emphasising that strong emotion he has and the facial expression he pulls while walking outside with the coffin highlights that recurring feeling, that is shown throughout the video.

Most of the shots are close ups, so you can see his face and body language, which has more of an impact since you can see how he's feeling through it and you get a good understanding of the feeling. However when he looks up it is a long shot, to show that he's all the way down there and she's all the way up there and you can see his face looking up and you see that he is sad and because he's singing it looks like he is screaming a bit/really upset.
One of the many close ups of the main character

It keeps you engaged if more things are happening, and since the tune is quick it changes with the beat, it keeps you from looking away because you're like whats going to happen next and keeps you engaged, since it's like he's singing at you, since theres a lot of close ups and he looks directly at the camera, he does this so you can see him close up, once enabling us to see his emotions and because its close up its in his personal space so its like its all about him and its personal.
When he looks up - like he's looking up to her

At the end he puts the coffin into the car with some other people and then at the very end he is looking into the car and he puts his hand on the window, showing that he misses her and that it's goodbye.

The genre of the band is Alternative rock, Emo, Pop punk, Post-hardcore, Punk rock and Hard rock. I can tell that it is a rock music video because of the sound, since when he sings it's like he's screaming in some songs and in this one it sounds like he's hurt, which is similar and emo is related to a something dark and sad emotions and in the video the colours are very dark and you can see that he's sad, which shows that it's a emo genre or rock genre, since they play the drums hard and fast like they do in a lot of rock videos.
Its intended audience is teenagers, since they go through a lot when they are teenagers and because it's an emotional video and adults tend to be better with dealing with problems and teenagers are still growing and therefore can relate to the song, making them listen to it more, since people like to relate to song, which is why they can enjoy them.

This shows the things she uses to make herself look more like a doll - to hide the reality

The genre is alternative and indie. I can tell it is alternative because its something outside of the mainstream music and it's not classic rock since there arent drums or anything that sounds like it would be rock its sounds a bit different and it's not heavy rock either and it has a certain sound which makes it unique and interesting and its singing about someone and they sound hurt which does make it seem like rock and he wears black and it has a dark theme to it which makes it seem rock like.
It's intended audience would be 15-20 years old. This is because the character is dressed up so it seems like a cosplay which can be associated with anime and when people start school not college they tend to like anime a lot and go through a "phase" and since they might like k-pop or j-pop or something similar which reminds them of anime and cosplay, they would like the video because they would look like a k-pop start or like a real life anime character which might make them want to watch it. I'd say it's mostly aimed at girls since it only has a guy in it who looks anime and some people might like that sort of thing and watch a lot of his videos because they might look cool and the song is a romance song so it might be something girls are interested in so they might think its romantic and then like it a lot and it has interesting instruments in it which make it sound unique so they might listen to it since it sounds catchy and since theres only a guy singing about romance I would say it's more aimed at girls and since it has vampires some girls might like that too so they would think it looks or seems cool and would want to possibly watch it more.

The purpose is to sell the songs and advertise the artist to teenagers, so they will buy it and then they can make money from their talent. It is also to show the two different sides of a life, the good side, where everything is perfect and the other side where everything is bad and that people pretend they have a great life, but underneath its going bad. This is to sell specifically to teenage girls, since a dollhouse relates to girls and the idea of a perfect world, its what a lot of people want, specifically girls, because they want to be perfect.
^ The girl who plays with the dolls and the bigger world

^ The small dollhouse

The singer is the doll - she becomes real when the little girl isn't there
Form
The form of the video is live action, this makes it interesting since they are real people who somehow fit into a dolls house, which makes people intrigued and want to watch it. Its shown through live action to show real life, how its viewed, since we live in a big world - which would be the persons world who plays with the dollhouse and we are a small part of that big world, the dollhouse represents that and shows how life is. The video is 4:26 long.Content
The context is a family dressing up so they can look perfect in public, pretending to be a perfect family and it shows you how they act in public, whereas at home they act completely differently, since the mum drinks, to drink away her sorrows and the dad is out cheating on her and then they get back in to their places like dolls, because the little girl is coming back up the stairs so they got to be perfect.Meaning
The doll thats inside the house at the beginning after the girl leaves lays there in the house where the girl left her, staying 'perfect', then the camera goes black after getting close to the house and the a real person/the singer appears and because the girls gone the dolls don't have to be perfect anymore. The colour of the dolls/singers hair has two sides to it and one side is black, representing the dark side the not so perfect side and the other colour is a girls colour - purple and is quite light, showing the perfect side. She has a bow on her head thats big to show that she is a doll and the make she has shows this, because dolls lips tend to be a certain way. The other colours on there like the pink are girly colours, since its a dollhouse. When she sings "Hey girl, open the walls, play with your dolls, we'll be a perfect family" this implies that when she - the little girl, opens the walls and starts playing with the family, the family is perfect and there aren't any flaws with them. Then she goes on to sing "When you walk away, it's when we really play, you don't hear me when i say mum please wake up, dads with a s***, and your son is smoking cannabis", this shows that when she's gone the family start 'playing' - being how they would normally if the little girl wasn't there and shows how they all act without people being there and how everything starts going wrong and becomes not perfect. She also sings "places, places, get in your places, throw on your dress and put on your doll face, everyone thinks that we're perfect please don't let them look through the curtains" and as she sings that, the brother starts hitting the wall and the singer is in the room the son is hitting the wall of, this shows that the son is still being normal/ not perfect and the girl is getting in her place, getting ready to be perfect even though the family isn't and everything is bad. and with the throw on your dress, she is looking into a mirror, since when girls put dresses on or try on dresses they look in the mirror and then when it plays and put on your doll faces, it shows doll faces and their eyes have been cut out and there are two heads, this implies that they put on real plastic doll faces to hide the imperfect life and being fakes.
This is when he hits the wall

Genre
The genre of this is alternative and indie. I can tell its indie because indie means it is localised and it means more to you and because the song is about a family, being like dolls, to be perfect make it that, since it would mean more to people, because they tend to say their life is good and act like it's perfect but the reality is its not and people can relate to this which then means more to them making it indie.Intended audience
The intended audience is teenage girl, since the colours used and the concept of dolls, all relate to girls and because some girl or most want to live the perfect life, some will lie and say they do putting on a facade and if a girl can relate they will most likely listen to it more due to the fact that they like the theme - dolls, the perfect life because its what they want but don't have.Video: My Nocturnal Serenade by Yohio
Purpose
The purpose of this video is to sell the artist, since the video only has the artist in it and he sings his song, no one else appears in it, other than the person who is in it for the story but they don't appear much, so they are showing off the person/their acting and possibly looks, since they show him a lot and only him and up close and his voice and it's different from most other videos since the singer has contacts in to make him look different which makes it interesting and intriguing.
Form
The form is live action and it lasts 3:58. Since its live action, this shows that they are trying to sell the artist because they are showing him off, showing his talent(s). They might also be doing it like that because they might think it works better with the song or might have ideas for it to do a live action and want to make it different.
Content
The content for this video seems to be that a man has a big house and is rich, since he has so much stuff and a giant house and his wife has died, since in the lyrics it hints at it or it could be that shes left him and he has a photo of her and then he sells the house or maybe something else and gets turned into a vampire like hes sold he soul because hes lonely or has nothing left.
Throughout the video, the main character is shown, so they are showing his loneliness because hes alone, his wife has left or died, so they show this by having only him in all the shots while singing about it. In the video he is shown to be rich, both him and his wife, but the wife is dead so now everything is his and feels lonely since he has a big house all to himself so he wants to do something about it, so he signs away either himself or his house or he signed something and didn't know what would happen and then the guy turns him into a vampire. He has black wings in some scenes which implies that he has become a devil, possibly because he has lost his angel so now he has become a fallen angel because his love is not there with him and after he signs a contract he becomes a vampire which makes him more evil since vampires are seen as evil since they drink peoples blood and since black angel wings are seen as evil he becomes something else later and he sings "And I'm losing my mind" which implies hes changing and becoming worse so hes become or becoming evil. He wears white clothes which implies that he is pure and the pure white colour and suit imply he is rich since suits are expensive and his outfit is pure white except the black trousers and shoes, with the white colour he wears and black, this could show that at this point in time he is half pure and half evil, since black is seen as evil and white is seen as pure. A part at the beginning when hes standing on the roof and has a bit of blood on him could imply he wants to die, since the house and everything doesnt matter to him without her so he wants to die and he has a blank face like he doesnt care and the bits of blood on him, could be foreshadowing later when he turns into a vampire. He holds a picture of her in one of the scenes emphasising him missing her and the lyrics also show that. The characters eyes are a really light blue, which could also add to him being pure because it's a light colour same with his hair being blonde. The eyes look different from normal eyes since his eyes are really bright and when his laying on the table having blood taken from him his eyes light up like vampire eyes do so it makes it look spooky. And the way he moves in the video makes him seem upset since he moves violently and his face looks blank, or a bit dead inside, most likely because he lost his wife and doesnt have much to live for anymore.
